Cycle 2 Pavement Resurfacing

This Cycle 2 Pavement Resurfacing project includes the resurfacing Frederick Street from Alessandro Boulevard to Sunnymead Boulevard. Elsworth Street between Cactus Avenue and Business Center Drive (as additive bid item if favorable bids are received). The work generally includes removing existing asphalt concrete pavement and overlaying with a new layer of asphalt rubber hot mix concrete. The work also includes the reconstruction of a number of access ramps within the paving limits to meet current ADA standards. The project aims to consist enhance safety, drivability and accessibility to both drivers and pedestrians while extends the service life of the road pavement. The project is federally funded under the MAP21-Surface Transportation Program and utilizes local monies as funding match. The City anticipates receiving the authorization to proceed with construction from Caltrans/Federal Highway Administration by September 2015 and advertising the project for construction bids in October 2015. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in January 2016 and to be completed by April 2016.
