The Land Development Division provides services to business owners, developers, and residents. Services offered to businesses include:

 

Inspection Services

To comply with the 2002 Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), the City of Moreno Valley must perform stormwater and non-stormwater inspections of local businesses. Storm Water Management Program (SWMP)

The SWMP is responsible for the City’s compliance with the state mandates found within the Santa Ana River Watershed Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit. The permit required the City reduce pollutants in urban runoff to the Maximum Extend Practicable. SWMP staff formulates and implements City policy and programs to comply with permit mandates.

In addition; SWMP staff is involved in various regional/global Technical Advisory Committees to formulate regional policy and studies to protect inland streams, lakes, surface and ground waters for present the future generations.

Flood Plan Management services are also provided here and including participation in the National Flood Insurance Program and Community Rating System Program.

Support Assistance - Special Events

Special Events that will block the public right-of-way (streets and/or sidewalks) for less than 24 hours (excluding block parties), are processed in accordance with the City’s Special Events Policy LDD# 2007-12.

Which department to contact for other types of Special Events:

On private property (e.g., parking lot) – Planning for Temporary Use Permit, 951.413.3206

Block Party – Land Development (Permit Technician for Encroachment Permit), 951.413.3120

In a City Park – Parks and Community Services to reserve a park via a Special Event Permit and Application form 951.413.3280

Involve closures of the public right-of-way (includes rolling closures) - All of these events will be processed through City staff, and the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Department to assure public safety is maintained, and to provideminimum disruption to residents and visitors to Moreno Valley.
