Street Maintenance
The Street Maintenance Program consists of 10 full-time employees, 20 vehicles, and 22 pieces of equipment that maintains over 1,000 lane miles of street; including weed spraying, pothole repair, street reconstruction/overlay, and shoulder repair/grading.
Four temporary employees provide crack sealing for the City’s capital slurry seal project, removal of illegally dumped items City-wide, and supplemental workforce where needed.
This section also has one full-time and one part-time employee who work weekends to provide supervision to the work release labor pool to do weed abatement and cleanup within the City.
The Catch Basin Maintenance Program
The Catch Basin Maintenance Program The Storm Drain Program has two full-time employees and one vactor truck that monitor and clean the City’s storm water drainage system, with an average of 140 catch basins and 1,300 feet of storm drains inspected/cleaned each month. This program assists the City in meeting its National Pollutants Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES ) compliance with the Federal Clean Water Act in maintaining over 1,900 catch basins City-wide.
- Annual inspection and cleaning of all City storm drains and catch basins
- Cleaning of debris and clearance of drainage systems after storm events
- Prevention of standing water issues/concerns in City right-of-way areas
