Recent Winner of the Chelbana Award

On January 10, 2002, a traffic collision on Reche Canyon Road resulted in one of the vehicles catching fire and spreading to the other vehicle involved, where the driver was unconscious and trapped in the wreckage. Four local heroes came to the aid of the trapped man and saved his life.

These men were presented with the Frank Chelbana Memorial Community Service Award at the City Council Meeting of February 26, 2002. Congratulations to these fine men. Our community is a safer place because of caring individuals like them.
