Moreno Valley City Council Unanimously Appoints Ed A. Delgado as Mayor Pro Tem

On Tuesday, May 17, the Moreno Valley City Council unanimously appointed Ed A. Delgado to serve as the City’s next Mayor Pro Tem.
“Ed Delgado is a dedicated public servant, and I am proud to have him as Mayor Pro Tem,” said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “Mayor Pro Tem Delgado has worked hard to ensure our City continues to thrive. His collaborative personality and natural-born leadership skills make him the ideal Mayor Pro Tem.”
“I am honored to hold the title of Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Moreno Valley, and I would like to thank the City Council and our community for their confidence in me,” said Mayor Pro Tem Delgado. “I take this job seriously, and I promise to continue to lead by example and work tirelessly every day to put the people of Moreno Valley first.”
Mayor Pro Tem Delgado has represented District 2 since he was elected to the Moreno Valley City Council in November 2021. Mayor Pro Tem Delgado currently serves on the City’s Economic Development, Public Safety, and Parks and Community Services Subcommittees. He also represents the City of Moreno Valley at the March Joint Powers Commission and the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG).
ABOUT MAYOR PRO TEM DELGADO
Mayor Pro Tem Delgado is a 25-year resident of Moreno Valley. He is a 23-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, where he currently serves as the Assistant Sheriff overseeing Corrections.
A Coast Guard veteran, Mayor Pro Tem Delgado is also an Adjunct Instructor for Moreno Valley College, where he teaches leadership courses to young adults within the law enforcement profession. Mayor Pro Tem Delgado is a voting member of the Riverside County Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (JJCC). The JJCC is dedicated to the promotion of an effective juvenile justice system operated in an environment of credibility, dignity, fairness and respect for the youth of Riverside County.

El Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley nombra por unanimidad a Ed A. Delgado como Alcalde Pro Tem
El martes 17 de mayo, el Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley nombró por unanimidad a Ed A. Delgado para servir como el próximo Alcalde Pro Tem de la ciudad.
“Ed Delgado es un servidor público dedicado y estoy orgulloso de tenerlo como Alcalde Pro Tem”, dijo el Dr. Yxstian Gutiérrez, Alcalde de Moreno Valley. “El Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado ha trabajado duro para garantizar que nuestra ciudad siga prosperando. Su personalidad colaborativa y sus habilidades de liderazgo de origen natural lo convierten en el Alcalde Pro Tem ideal”.
“Me siento honrado de tener el título de Alcalde Pro Tem de la ciudad de Moreno Valley, y me gustaría agradecer al Concejo Municipal ya nuestra comunidad por su confianza en mí”, dijo el Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado. “Tomo este trabajo con seriedad y prometo continuar predicando con el ejemplo y trabajar incansablemente todos los días para poner primero a la gente de Moreno Valley”.
El Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado ha representado al Distrito 2 desde que fue elegido miembro del Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley en noviembre de 2021. El Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado actualmente forma parte de los subcomités de Desarrollo Económico, Seguridad Pública y Parques y Servicios Comunitarios de la ciudad. También representa a la ciudad de Moreno Valley en la Comisión de Poderes Conjuntos de Marzo y el Consejo de Gobiernos de Western Riverside (WRCOG).
ACERCA DE EL ALCALDE PRO TEM DELGADO
El Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado es un residente de Moreno Valley desde hace 25 años. Es un veterano de 23 años del Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Riverside, donde actualmente se desempeña como Asistente del Sheriff supervisando Correccionales.
Veterano de la Guardia Costera, el Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado también es instructor adjunto del Colegio Moreno Valley, donde imparte cursos de liderazgo para adultos jóvenes dentro de la profesión de aplicación de la ley. El Alcalde Pro Tem Delgado es miembro votante del Consejo Coordinador de Justicia Juvenil del Condado de Riverside (JJCC).
