I may not be a weatherman, but I am predicting snow in Moreno Valley!
On Saturday, December 6, we will be holding our annual Snow Day and Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. It’ll be a day of fun, with two very special events, and yes, tons of real snow!
The fun starts at 10 a.m. Bring the whole family to play in the snow as we turn the Civic Center Amphitheater into a winter wonderland, perfect for sled riding, building snowmen, and making snow angels. There is also a sleigh full of games, crafts, and treats from food vendors.
You can pre-register online at moval.org/holidays or stop by the Conference and Recreation Center to sign up for snow play. The spots go quickly, so don’t wait!
And when the sun goes down, the celebration ramps up with one of my favorite MoVal traditions: our Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. At 5:45 p.m., we will gather together in front of City Hall, where there will be live music, entertainment, and light refreshments. We’ll count down to lighting up our spectacular 30-foot tree while families sip cocoa, soak in the spirit of the season, and take pictures with that famous man in the big red suit. Be sure to arrive early, as this is a very popular event!
The fun and happiness produced by our Snow Day and Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony is yet another taste of what makes Moreno Valley so special. It’s about neighbors coming together, our kids laughing, and the simple joy of making lasting memories right here at home.
I can’t wait to see you there, all bundled up, smiling, and ready to celebrate the magic of the holidays together.
Puede que no sea meteorólogo, ¡pero pronostico nieve en Moreno Valley!
El sábado 6 de diciembre celebraremos nuestro Día de la Nieve y Ceremonia de Iluminación del Árbol Navideño. Será un día de diversión, con dos eventos muy especiales, ¡y sí, mucha nieve de verdad!
La diversión empieza a las 10 a. m. Traigan a toda la familia a jugar en la nieve mientras convertimos el Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico en un paraíso invernal, perfecto para pasear en trineo, construir muñecos de nieve y ángeles de nieve. También habrá un trineo lleno de juegos, actividades artísticas y delicias de los vendedores de comida.
Pueden registrarse por adelantado en línea en moval.org/holidays o pasar por el Centro de Conferencias y Recreación para inscribirse en el juego en la nieve. ¡Las plazas se agotan, así que no esperen!
Y al ponerse el sol, la celebración se continúa con una de mis tradiciones favoritas de MoVal: nuestra Ceremonia de Iluminación del Árbol Navideño. A las 5:45 p. m., nos reuniremos frente al Ayuntamiento, donde habrá música en vivo, entretenimiento y refrigerios. Haremos la cuenta regresiva para encender nuestro espectacular árbol de 9 metros mientras las familias disfrutan de un chocolate caliente, se llenan del espíritu navideño y se toman fotos con el famoso hombre del gran traje rojo. ¡Asegúrense de llegar temprano, ya que este es un evento muy popular!
La diversión y la alegría que generan nuestro Día de Nieve y la Ceremonia de Encendido del Árbol Navideño son una muestra más de lo que hace a Moreno Valley tan especial. Se trata de la unión de los vecinos, la risa de nuestros hijos y la simple alegría de crear recuerdos imborrables aquí mismo, en casa.
¡Tengo muchas ganas de verlos allí, bien abrigados, sonriendo y listos para celebrar juntos la magia de las fiestas!###
