Tips for Finding Your Lost Pet
In addition to spreading the word on local lost and found pet social media groups, here are four steps you can take to find your lost pet. Don't forget to notify your pet's microchip company and ensure all information is correct before you start.
Step 1: Check Moreno Valley Stray Pets Website Daily
Check the Animal Shelter's website daily. The website refreshes approximately every hour. Please continue checking regularly. You can also check in-person during normal business hours.

Step 2: Check the Animal Shelter's Deceased Animal List
The button links to information about deceased or euthanized animals impounded in the last 7 days. These animals were found either deceased before being picked up by Moreno Valley Animal Services or were euthanized very soon after because they were severely injured or ill and were irremediably suffering. This information is to provide closure for the loss of a pet. The list includes a description and the location where the animal was found. The site has no pictures. Step 3: Check Other Local Animal Shelters
Check other local area Animal Shelters in the event someone found your pet and took them to an animal shelter in a different jurisdiction.
Step 4: File a Lost Pet Report
There are three services for filing a Lost Pet report.

If your pet is currently licensed, log into your DocuPet account and report your pet as missing. This Lost Report can be sent to all registered pet owners in your area and includes important reunification information such as identifying photos, contact information, last known location and more. It can also be shared with Petco Love Lost, the largest free national lost and found pet database.
