Election Information
The City of Moreno Valley is a general law city. Effective with the November 2016 election, the City Council consists of four Councilmembers elected by and from geographic districts, and a Mayor elected at large.
The next General Municipal Election for the City of Moreno Valley will be held on November 3, 2026, for the following offices:
- Mayor for a Two-Year Term
- District 2 Councilmember for a Four-Year Term
- District 4 Councilmember for a Four-Year Term
Councilmembers serve staggered four-year terms, and the Mayor serves a two-year term.

Nomination papers are only available by appointment from the City Clerk during regular office hours (Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and will be provided digitally. Nomination papers will be provided digitally.
