Flex your power graphicStatewide Flex Alert Issued Due to Heat Wave
With a heat wave predicted to continue baking California over the next few days, the manager of the state's power grid issued a statewide Flex Alert for Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Resident are being asked to voluntarily conserve electricity to ease demand on the system and help prevent blackouts from occurring. The Flex Alert issued by the California Independent System Operator (Cal-ISO) will be in effect from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Flex Alerts are issued when the electricity grid is under stress to meet demand from generation or transmission outages, or from persistent hot temperatures. Find out more...

Residents can make an appointment between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, July 3 to pick up their pets lost over the weekend due to fireworks and other issues.
